With Marriott, we looked at the city not from the outside, but from the inside. To embrace the spirit of Izmir, it was necessary to learn to live with it. That's why Marriott opened up not to Izmir, but to becoming Izmirli. More than enough...
CHARACTER
Izmir Marriott; someone who sips their first morning coffee on the Kordon, enjoys watching the sunset in the evening, seemingly global, yet proud to be from Izmir. Elegant, simple, confident; a personality that expresses luxury not through ostentation, but through simplicity.
TURNING POINT
Marriott İzmir aimed not just to exist in this city, but to belong to it. That's why in every campaign, every communication, every idea, it used language that embraced İzmir's energy, its people, its sunsets, its sea. Thus, Marriott became not just a hotel; it became one of the city's codes of elegance.

IDEA
Not just watching the city, but living the city... Marriott's plan to settle in Izmir! We made the Alcedo bird, which gave its name to the restaurant, the brand's mascot. Alcedo roamed the streets of Izmir as the symbol of the hotel. It posed at every important location that makes Izmir, Izmir! With all sincerity! Later, we realized that the brand needed to bring this feeling to life not only outside, but also inside. That's how the idea for the “Dream Corner” was born. We designated certain corners of the hotel for dreaming and putting those dreams into words. We left a pen and paper in those corners. We started a story with one sentence on each piece of paper and asked guests to complete the stories. After they finished, we asked them to throw their papers into the Transformation Box. We then compiled all these stories into our book, “Stories That Pass Through Marriott.” Thus, Marriott became not just a hotel, but an inspiring stop along the way.
LANGUAGE
Marriott's language is in tune with the city's tempo. Neither too fast nor too slow. Extremely sincere, extremely simple, extremely warm!
VISUAL
Izmir's light meets Marriott's signature style. The blue of the sea, the golden hues of sunset, calm yet distinguished lines.
MOVEMENT
Our signature touch in many details throughout the hotel, our content created for digital platforms, and our ideas like the Dream Corner, which invites guests to co-create a story and write freely, have made the İzmir Marriott more than just a hotel—it’s an entirely different lodging experience: a brand that has won the affection of İzmir!
